My first reading about the elephants was in a classic novel by Jules Verne.
It was something about how those large pachyderms become so aggressive when they are threatened.
I remembered reading the confrontation ‘elephant-men’ with curiosity, a little fear and hope that men will win.
And they did.
Not in a classical way, as no one was harmed.
Page after page, it seemed that the ‘threat’ was getting higher and higher.
I don’t remember the reason for the confrontation. Just the tension, reading this, is still present.
Unlike humans, the elephants are aggressive only when justified.
